Wolfgang Feneberg

Wolfgang Feneberg (born May 31, 1935 - † March 8, 2018 ) was a German Roman Catholic, later Evangelical Lutheran theologian , New Testament scholar , former Jesuit and pastor i. R. of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria and university professor .

Life

After studying philosophy and Catholic theology , Wolfgang Feneberg received his doctorate in New Testament theology in Innsbruck . He completed a degree in pedagogy with a Magister (Mag. Päd.).

From 1974 to 1990 he taught and researched at the University of Philosophy in Munich , from 1983 as professor for "Introduction and Exeges of the New Testament", and founded the "Bible School in Israel". From 1958 to 1990 he was a member of the Jesuit order.

After leaving the Jesuit order, he worked as a pastor in the honorary office of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria , and continued to teach in Bible schools, as well as at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg , the German University in Armenia (professor for New Testament and Jewish Studies), and as Vice President and Speaker of the St. Paul Academy.

He published on various topics of New Testament theology and Ignatian spirituality, and was active in the retreat and spiritual accompaniment.
