Act
Rohrhurst was a brilliant speaker and could convince people. As President of the Baden state parliament, this benefited him greatly. For him, who was a teacher with heart and soul, the main concern was to improve schools. In parliament, for example, he advocated reducing the class division from 130 to 70 pupils and increasing the income of elementary school teachers. He also supported the construction of the teacher training institute, which later became the college of education , and the new university library in Heidelberg. As a Protestant theologian, Rohrhurst increasingly took up the subject of religion. He was a member of the Evangelical League , an advocacy group for German Protestants against the advance of Catholicism.
