Rupprecht Mayer
Rupprecht Mayer (* 1946 near Marktschellenberg ) is a German literary translator and writer .
Life
Rupprecht Mayer studied Sinology and East Asian art history in Munich, Taiwan, Surabaya and Bonn from 1966 to 1976 . He then worked as a gallery owner, publisher, translator and lecturer in Munich. From 1989 to 2012 he worked as a translator and interpreter in Beijing, Berlin and Shanghai. Today he lives in Burghausen an der Salzach. Since 1981 he has published numerous translations by Chinese authors as well as a non-fiction book on historical Chinese reverse glass painting. In addition, Rupprecht Mayer publishes his own literary texts ( short stories , lyrical prose) in literary magazines such as Akzente , Am Erker , besides , drafts , Krautgarten , Lichtungen , Lose Blätter , Macondo , miromente , Muschelhaufen , Podium and SALZ .
