RusLine ( Russian Авиакомпания РусЛайн / Transkription Awiakompanija RusLajn ) is a Russian regional airline based in Moscow and based at Moscow Domodedovo Airport . As a result of the takeover, it is also the successor to Air Volga .

history

The airline was founded in 1999 as Aerotex Airlines, based at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport . The current name RusLine has been used since March 2013 . The base was also moved to Moscow Vnukovo Airport .

On April 1, 2010, the airline acquired the bankrupt airline Air Volga . This also took over the design of this airline. The old logo was thus renewed. The takeover also added six Bombardier CRJ200s to the fleet. Some new routes and the new base at Volgograd Airport have also been put into operation. Domodedovo Airport also became a new base - further bases at Saint Petersburg Airport and Yekaterinburg Airport were added.

At the beginning of 2017, the airline announced that it would expand its route network and has been flying to Halle / Leipzig Airport three times a week since April 19 . The connection was discontinued at the end of March 2018.

subsidiary company

The subsidiary RusLine Technics is active in the area of aircraft maintenance at several locations. FastAir International offers spare parts in civil and commercial aviation .

Incidents

The crashed plane

20 June 2011 47 people died in the crash of RusLine Flight 243 on approach to the RUSAIR belonging Tu-134 to the airport Petrozavodsk . The aircraft had previously taken off from Moscow-Domodedovo , touched trees on the approach and then came to rest on the ground on an expressway because visibility was poor and the loss of altitude under the glide path had not been corrected. 5 people survived the crash of the plane, which was not on the runway axis anyway due to incorrect and unauthorized position information from the navigator.
