Rustam Shagiev

Rustam Schagijew ( Russian Рустам Шагиев , English transcription Rustam Shagi (y) ev ; * January 23, 1963 ) is a former Russian marathon runner .

In 1987 he ran in Kiev on a distance that was 300 m too short in 2:11:17 h. In 1989, starting for the Soviet Union , he finished 13th in the IAAF World Cup marathon and was twelfth in the New York City Marathon . Also in 1989 he won the silver medal in the Universiade marathon held as part of the Rhine-Ruhr Marathon and came fifth in the Fukuoka Marathon .

In 1991 he won the Berlin Half Marathon and was fourth in the Berlin Marathon in his personal best of 2:11:53 h. In 1991 and 1994 he won the Siberian International Marathon .
