Ruth Kastner

Ruth Kastner (born September 28, 1951 in Hamburg ) is a German historian , journalist and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2012 to 2017 she was state chairwoman of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Schleswig-Holstein .

biography

After graduating from high school in 1971, Ruth Kastner studied German language and literature, history and education at the University of Hamburg , passed the first state examination for higher education in 1977 and became Rainer Wohlfeil's assistant . In 1981 she became a clergyman with her dissertation . Form and function of illustrated leaflets on the anniversary of the Reformation in 1617 in their historical and journalistic context on Dr. phil. PhD. From 1982 to 1984 she was a research assistant at Günter Moltmann and a lecturer at the University of Hamburg.

From 1984 to 1987 Kastner completed a traineeship at Kieler Nachrichten , where she worked as an editor from 1986. From 1987 to 2009 she worked as an editor for the Hamburger Abendblatt .

Ruth Kastner is married and has one daughter.

politics

In 1996 Ruth Kastner was a founding member of the "Friends of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH) eV" and was the long-time 2nd chairwoman of the association.

In 2009, Kastner joined Alliance 90 / The Greens. Since May 2011 she has been an assessor in the Stormarn district committee and a member of the state party council.

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 , Kastner was a candidate in 13th place on the state list and a direct candidate for the constituency of Stormarn-Nord .

From June 2012 Ruth Kastner was one of two state chairmen of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Schleswig-Holstein. She was re-elected in 2013 and 2015. In the election in October 2017, she no longer ran.
