Ruth Marie Kröger (born February 15, 1976 in Heidelberg ) is a German actress .

life and work

Kröger studied acting at the Hanover University of Music and Theater from 1995 to 1999 and performed at the Hanover State Theater and at the Theater an der Glocksee while still studying . From 1999 to 2001 she was a member of the ensemble at the Freie Kammerspiele Magdeburg , and from 2001 to 2009 at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . Here she played the girl in Chekhov's Platonov in a production by Dimiter Gotscheff (2002), Ophelia in Hamlet directed by Anselm Weber (2003), Lolita in a Florian Fiedler production (2004) and Gretchen in Jorinde Dröses Urfaust -Interpretation (2006). She was also on stage in plays by Albert Camus and Mark Ravenhill - staged by Sebastian Baumgarten and Roger Vontobel . She then went to the Schauspiel Köln for four years , where she played a. a. Agrippina, The Empress from Cologne , staged by Suse Wächter (2010) and got to know the director Katie Mitchell , who gave her central roles in Cologne, Hamburg, Salzburg and Berlin in the following years.

Kröger was and is also seen and heard in various film, television and radio play productions. In the Tatort episode Bitteres Bread, she played the role of Lisbeth Kemmerlang, who burns to death in an oven (director: Jürgen Bretzinger , 2003). She was also involved in Robert Lehniger's innovative online video project apartment 666 (2009) and Sönke Wortmann's wedding video (2011). She also played a supporting role in the series Großstadtrevier in 2018.

Ruth Marie Kröger has two children and lives with her family in Hamburg. She is married to the actor Michael Weber .
