Ruth de Gooijer

Ruth de Gooijer (* 7. February 1953 in Utrecht / Netherlands , † 12. February 2008 in Zeist / Netherlands) was a Dutch director , dramaturge and playwright . She directed numerous plays, including several world premieres, such as Heleen Verburg's drama "Winterslaap", which de Gooijer staged in 1988 in Amsterdam with the theater group "Mevrouw Smit". She also worked as a dramaturge, for example for the play "Zabibi and Muzalifa" by Bente Jonker (2003). As a director and dramaturge, she often worked with Ad de Bont , for example on the production of “Colofon” by Barry Hofstede or “Van de wind, de modder en een kloppend hart” (German: “From the wind, from the mud and a beating heart “), Which she wrote together with Ad de Bont and Lies van de Wiel and also directed.

In the German-speaking world, she became known for her play "Black Like Ink", which was staged by Rob Vriens at the Theaterhaus Frankfurt. This piece is the adaptation of a book by Wim Hofmann "Black as Ink - The Story of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs", an update of the fairy tale of the same name . The German-language premiere took place on February 22, 2007 in the Theaterhaus Frankfurt. The production won the Marburg Children's and Youth Theater Prize in 2008 and became the 10th German Children's and Youth Theater Meeting for 2009 “Just a moment! 2009 ” in Berlin .
