Rydal Water is one of the smaller lakes in Northern England's Lake District National Park . With a maximum depth of 16 m, it is 1.1 km long and 370 m wide.
The lake is located near the village of Rydal between the two villages of Ambleside and Grasmere in the Rothay Valley . It is traversed by the River Rothay in a north-south direction, which flows into Lake Windermere at Ambleside .
