São Manços is a small town and former municipality in Portugal .

history

Finds prove a prehistoric settlement, including an Anta and other megalithic finds and excavations. The current place was probably created in the course of the settlement policy during the Reconquista between the 8th and 12th centuries.

On December 29, 1923, São Manços was elevated to a small town ( Vila ). With the territorial reform in 2013 , the municipality was dissolved and merged with São Vicente do Pigeiro into a new municipality.

São Manços was a municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Évora , in the district of Évora . 939 inhabitants lived in it (as of June 30, 2011).

In the course of the municipal reorganization of Portugal after the local elections on September 29, 2013, the municipality of São Manços was merged with São Vicente do Pigeiro to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de São Manços e São Vicente do Pigeiro .
