Saxon-Bohemian Railway Company
The Sächsisch-Böhmische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH (SBE) was a private railway company in Saxony .
It was based in Zittau and was a wholly owned subsidiary of HWB Verkehrsgesellschaft in Hermeskeil in the Hunsrück. The other founders, the Böhmische Nordbahn and the Sächsisch-Oberlausitzer Eisenbahngesellschaft (SOEG), left in 2005. Together with Bahnbetriebswerk Zittau GmbH , which is also part of the Hochwald Group, SBE was located in the 15-hour Zittau roundhouse , which was acquired in 2004.
The SBE was a member of the tariff association of federal and non-federal railways in Germany (TBNE).
history
From December 2002 to December 2010, the SBE operated local rail passenger transport on the Zittau - Mittelherwigsdorf - Varnsdorf - Seifhennersdorf - Eibau line ( Mandaubahn ) on behalf of the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Transport Association (ZVON) . After he canceled the Seifhennersdorf – Eibau section in 2005, attempts were made until the end of 2006 to maintain the traffic independently. Since then, this section has been without rail passenger transport.
In the 2007/2008 timetable, four pairs of trains on the Mandaubahn from Zittau to Liberec were extended on working days .
Several times a year, special trips from Zittau to Prague and other destinations in the Czech Republic were carried out with a rail bus .
The three public transport organizing authorities , first held Czech-German bid for further operation on the DreiLänderBahn Liberec-Zittau - Varnsdorf-Rybniště / Seifhennersdorf had as of 12 December 2010, the SBE because of the requirements imposed (new vehicles with at least 100 km / h, high financial security). Instead, at the beginning of 2009, the ZVON commissioned the Vogtlandbahn (now Länderbahn ), which belongs to the Netinera Group, to run the operation for ten years, using Desiro- type multiple units.
The company Sächsisch-Böhmische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH was dissolved on December 12, 2010. The employees switched to the parent company HWB Verkehrsgesellschaft or other companies.
