The Order of Flood Helpers of the State of Saxony 2002 was donated by the State of Saxony on the occasion of the flood disaster in August 2002 on the Elbe and many tributaries such as the Mulde . The Elbe flood in 2002 was the largest German disaster response in the post-war period. The full text of the foundation is presented in the article.

Foundation purpose

As a token of grateful recognition for the extraordinary help provided by the numerous emergency services and volunteers during the flood disaster that struck the Free State of Saxony in the summer of 2002, we are donating the Saxon Flood Helpers Order 2002. It can be awarded to anyone involved in flood relief in summer 2002 in the Free State of Saxony.

Shape and texture

The Fluthelfer Order consists of a round, silver-colored medal with an eyelet. It is worn on a ribbon attached to the loop in the colors of the Free State of Saxony. The front bears the coat of arms of the Free State of Saxony with the inscription: Free State of Saxony, Flood 2002. You helped . The back shows a symbol that reminds of the occasion of the foundation of the order. Instead of the medal, a ribbon buckle made of a white-green ribbon can be worn.

Lender

The flood relief medal is awarded to all domestic and foreign persons who have provided lasting help for at least one day.

Entitled to make proposals

The Saxon State Minister of the Interior is entitled to make proposals for the award of the Order of Flood Helpers. When the list of helpers is forwarded to the Saxon State Chancellery, the proposal is deemed to have been submitted.

Award examination

The submitting bodies check whether the requirements for an award are met. In cases of doubt, a generous decision is to be made. In those cases in which the helpers are to register in lists in their place of residence, the presence of the signature is important when making a decision. Double submissions are to be avoided. The proposals do not require any further justification than the fact that at least one day of sustained deployment was carried out in the Free State of Saxony on the occasion of the flood disaster in summer 2002. Name, first name, date of birth and home address are required for the award proposals.

Decision-making authority

The award of the flood helper order is reserved for the president of the Saxon state parliament and the prime minister.

Delivery

With the handing over of the medal and the miniature, the entrusted person receives a certificate signed by the President of the Saxon State Parliament and the Prime Minister. It bears the official seal of the Saxon state parliament. The handing over of the order as well as the award certificate take place, as far as the founder does not reserve himself, by the Saxon State Minister of the Interior. He can delegate the delivery.

Withdrawal and withdrawal

The Flood Helper Order can be revoked in the event of a final conviction for an offense that occurred after the award. The President of the Saxon State Parliament and the Prime Minister pronounce the withdrawal.

Death of the loaned

If the borrower dies, the order remains in the possession of the bereaved.

Alienation

The flood relief medal may not be sold by the person on loan or by his or her relatives.

Carrying method

The Saxon Fluther Order is worn as a ribbon medal on the left side of the chest on the medal buckle. However, in its original size only on the day it is awarded or on appropriate festive occasions. Otherwise only as a strap on the strap buckle.
