Sébastien Hamel (born November 20, 1975 in Arpajon ) is a former French football goalkeeper . He has been a beach soccer player since the end of his active career.
Career
Hamel's professional career began in 1993 at AS Monaco (no game). There it only lasted a year and he moved to Le Havre AC for the following season . However, he was never really able to assert himself and completed only 65 games in five and a half years. Until December 2000 he was under contract with Le Havre. In January 2001 he signed with RC Lens (no game), but only stayed until the end of the second half of the season before joining FC Lorient in the summer of 2002 , where he played fifteen games. A year later he was poached by AJ Auxerre and stayed with the club for four years, but never got beyond the reserve role and only ran three times for the club. However, he was able to celebrate winning the Coupe de France with AJA in 2003 and 2005 . In July 2006 he decided to move again and signed with Olympique Marseille , where, as so often in his career, he took the place as number 2 . After two years without playing, Hamel will move to Toulouse FC in the 2008/09 season . The goalkeeper hopes for more chances at Toulouse, who narrowly missed relegation last year. However, Hamel did not manage to get past Cédric Carrasso , so that he did not play a competitive game at Toulouse in the first year. In the summer of 2009 he ended his career in professional football.
Beach soccer
After his career as a goalkeeper in Ligue 1, Hamel became a beach soccer goalkeeper, where he was nominated for the French national team by national coach Éric Cantona . With this, Hamel has already taken part in several international tournaments.
