Sébastien Jarrousse

Sébastien Jarrousse (born August 23, 1974 ) is a French jazz musician ( tenor and soprano saxophone , composer and arranger ).

Jarrousse, who comes from Brittany , studied classical and jazz music with François Jeanneau at the CNSM in Paris, where he was awarded a prize in 2002. He played in the large-format Franco-German jazz ensemble led by Albert Mangelsdorff and Jean-Rémy Guédon (recorded by Saarland Radio 1998). Then he worked with Robin Notte ( Première escale , 2001), Cécile Verny ( European Songbook , 2005) and in the formation Wise ( Electrology , 2006). With his own formations, for which he composes and arranges, he presented several albums, first Tribulation (2006), followed by Dream Time (2008, with the quintet led by Olivier Robin) and La Nuit des Temps (2009). In 2012 he formed a Tentet franco-allemand with the pianist Lars Duppler . He also recorded with Pier Paolo Pozzi .
