Pier Paolo Pozzi

Pier Paolo Pozzi (* 1964 in Varese ) is an Italian jazz musician ( drums , composition ) who lives in Paris.

Live and act

Pozzi studied from 1983 to 1986 in Rome at the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio with Massimo D'Agostino , Giovanna Marini , Martin Joseph , Francesco Marini , Danilo Terenzi and Giancarlo Gazzani . He initially accompanied musicians such as Tony Scott , Antonello Salis , Alex Britti , Danilo Terenzi, Crystal White, Donovan Mixon, Ares Tavolazzi , Marcello Rosa, Maurizio Giammarco and Riccardo Fassi.

In 1993 he moved to Paris, where he formed his Trio Triorital with Giovanni Mirabassi and Gildas Boclé ; In 1998 the Pier Paolo Pozzi Quartet followed with Paolo Fresu , Jean-Jacques Avenel and Fabio Zeppetella, with whom he presented his album Greeting from… in 2000. He also worked with Pierre de Bethmann , Michel Graillier , Jean-Loup Longnon , Bobby Few and traveling stars like Tommy Flanagan and Joshua Redman . He performed at international festivals in France, Germany, Italy and Tunisia. He also recorded albums with Barend Middelhoff, Rogerio Dentello, Patrice Galas and Christian Brenner.
