The archipelago of Sørøyane ( German "southern islands" ) is located southwest of Ålesund on the west Norwegian coast in Fylke Møre og Romsdal .
The Sørøyane include the inhabited islands of Leinøya , Bergsøya , Nerlandsøya , Remøya , Herøya and Runde and the uninhabited islands of Skorpa and Svinøya . In addition, there is a large number of spars and skerries .
The archipelago is part of Herøy municipality , which is administered from Fosnavåg .
