Gurskøya is a Norwegian island in Sunnmøre ( Møre og Romsdal ) southwest of Ålesund .
Gurskøya belongs to the municipalities of Herøy and Sande . The villages of Leikong , Tjørvågane , Moltustranda , Gjerdevika , Haugebygda , Gurskevågen , Hallebygda , Larsnes and Skredestranda are located on the island . The island is connected with the neighboring islands of Hareidlandet , Leinøya , Bergsøya , Remøya , Vogelinsel Runde and Nerlandsøya with bridges.
Gurskøya covers an area of 136.9 km², the highest point is the 621 m high Hestefjellet. Larsnes is the largest town on the island with 490 inhabitants.
On the shore at Løsetstranda there is a field with 63 stone mound graves from the Bronze Age and the octagonal wooden church Leikanger kirke near the village of Leikong .
