Bergsøya is one of the Sørøyane (South Islands) in Sunnmøre ( Fylke Møre og Romsdal ). The archipelago is located southwest of Ålesund .
Bergsøya belongs to the Herøy municipality . Fosnavåg , the administrative center of the municipality, is on the island . The island is connected to the neighboring islands of Leinøya , Gurskøya , Remøya , Runde and Nerlandsøya by bridges .
