Carmine Dominick Giovinazzo (born August 24, 1973 on Staten Island , New York ) is an American actor .

biography

Carmine Giovinazzo attended Port Richmond Public High School and Wagner College . He also did athletics and plays baseball and hockey. His first career aspiration was to become a professional baseball player, but after sustaining a back injury in college, he focused on an acting career. At New York University (NYU) he made numerous short films and various independent films . In 1997 he moved to Los Angeles and hired a manager. Shortly thereafter, at his first audition, he got the role of a student in the pilot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer .

Before his breakthrough, Giovinazzo had a few guest appearances in films like Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss , For the Love of the Game, and Black Hawk Down . In 1999 he had his own sitcom called Shasta McNasty . He starred with William H. Macy in In Enemy Hands . In the independent film The Red Zone he had a leading role and played alongside Freddy Rodríguez and Peter Dobson .

From 2004 to 2013 Giovinazzo played Danny Messer in the series CSI: NY . He was the first actor to appear in all three CSI series. He was in the first episode of the 3rd season of CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators and in the backdoor pilot of the series CSI: NY in the 23rd episode of the 2nd season of CSI: Miami as Danny Messer .

He is a member of the band Ceesau.

Giovinazzo comes from a family of police officers. His father, sister, and brother-in-law were with the New York Police Department.

Since July 2010, Giovinazzo has been married to actress Vanessa Marcil , who has a son from a previous relationship with Brian Austin Green . Marcil filed for divorce in the summer of 2012, which ended in the spring of 2013.
