The atonement cross (also known as the indulgence cross ) in Wiesbaum , a local community in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was erected in 1650. The wayside cross on Hauptstraße, at the corner of Üxheimer Straße, is a protected cultural monument .

The approximately 3.70 meter high atonement cross made of sandstone was erected for Johann Oswald Mohr von Wald, who was murdered on October 17, 1650.

The inscription reads: “EHEU! CECIDIT HIC PRAENOBILIS ET ILLUSTRIS D.JOES OS-WALDUS MOHR A WALDT, DOMINUS DE ST. PETERS-WALDT ET REICHSPERG QUEM MILITUM MANUS CIR-CUM VENIENS AETATE FLO-RIDUM ET INSONTEM VIO-LENTER PROSTRAVIT 17. OC-TOBRIS Aø 1650. CUIUS ANI-MA IN SANCTA PACE RE-QUIESQUATAMEN. "

(Translation: Here fell the noble and honorable Herr Johann Oswald Mohr von Wald, Herr von Sankt Peterswald and Reichsberg, whom the soldier's hand, wandering around in the blooming youth, struck down on October 17, 1650. His soul rest in holy peace. Amen.)

The inscription MOHR VOM WALDE on the left and SCHILLING VON LAHNSTEIN as well as the parental alliance coat of arms of the Mohr von Wald and the Schilling von Lahnstein can be seen on the short widened bracket . Above is the sculpture of the crucified Savior, surrounded by Mary Magdalene and Mary .
