Süleyman Seba (born April 5, 1926 in Hendek , Sakarya , Turkey, † August 13, 2014 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish football player and official. He was the club president of Beşiktaş Istanbul between 1984 and 2000 and is one of the most important personalities of this club.

Life

Seba attended elementary school in his native Hendek. The family then moved to Istanbul. Seba attended the Kabataş boys' high school there and played football in the school team. He graduated from school in 1945. He then enrolled at the Mimar Sinan University for French Philology. In 1950 he gave up his studies in favor of a month-long tour of America from Beşiktaş.

Player career

Seba played from 1943 as an active footballer for Beşiktaş and from 1945 in the 1st team. He scored his first goal for Beşiktaş in the opening game of İnönü Stadium against AIK Solna on November 27, 1947. In 1954 Seba ended his career as a footballer after a meniscus tear and in 1957 became a member of Beşiktaş's club.

National team

Seba played once for the Turkish U-21 national team in 1952 .

In 1984 he took over responsibility for the club and managed it until 2000. With him as president, Beşiktaş achieved the greatest successes in the club's history:
