In the north the Sülzbergland borders the Dhünn plateau (338.20), on the west by the Bechener plateau (338.21), on the southwest by the Paffrather Kalksenke (338.23), on the south by the Agger-Sülz-plateaus (338.4) and the east by the Wipper dump (338.12), the Wipperquell area (338.3) and the Oberaggerbergland (339.00).

The Sülzbergland is a low mountain country with a chambered surface, which lies at an altitude of 200 to 400 m. The more or less eroded plateaus frame the low mountain ranges and shallow depressions that run from northeast to southeast, through which the Kürten Sülz flows in the core .
