Sünde is the third album by the German band Eisbrecher . It was published in 2008 after a year of creation.

The line-up on the album now consists only of the two founding members Alexander Wesselsky and Noel Pix, but in some places on the album there is musical support from other musicians.

content

As with its predecessors, there is no concept for the album, but with To Die and Come Sweet Death there are two songs that are thematically about suicide , a theme that was already to be found on the previous albums. Heilig deals with the subject of BDSM ("Stop screaming, punishment must be"), while alcohol describes the consequences of alcohol consumption .

style

The album is a mixture of electronics, rock and sometimes metal.

With Kuss and Verdammt sind there are, as usual, two purely instrumental songs, with the latter going directly into the song Die durch die Hölle go .

criticism

In advance, singer Alexander Wesselsky announced optimistically that Eisbrecher had been a courageous record, Antibodies represented the breakthrough album and sin would now become a definitive announcement: “In the year five after the appearance of the Eisbrecher, sin will take stock and at the same time all the stops and will [ therefore] will be our most successful album. "

In contrast to the recently published Megaherz publication Heuchler , whose ratings were very different, Eisbrecher received almost consistently positive reviews. The e-zine laut.de stated that Eisbrecher "did not succeed in the big hit (...) with the important, third album", but that they "are still far from the shipwreck (...) [ be] ".

Single releases

In advance the song was written Can love be a sin? released as a single, which managed to rise from number 19 to 8 in the metal-rock charts, and the single was even able to occupy number 3 in the German alternative charts.

Presentation

A “cold colleague greeting ” in the booklet goes to The Retrosic , SITD , Rotersand , Lacrimas Profundere , A Life Divided , Das Ich , Conny Kreitmeier and Tina Frank .
