Cornelia "Conny" Kreitmeier (born August 2, 1971 in Munich ) is a German singer, music cabaret artist, entertainer and composer.

Life and education

Cornelia Kreitmeier grew up as the second of three children in a carpenter's family in Neufahrn near Freising . After graduating from secondary school in 1988, she completed a three-year apprenticeship as a bookbinder . In the mid-1990s she moved to Munich, where she attended the New Jazzschool e. V. studied jazz. She had numerous "session engagements" through the Munich clubs, accompanied by private training such as theater improvisation courses and participation in singing workshops and the like. a. with Norbert Gottschalk and Dorte Hyldstrup (Estill Voice Training EVT). She took piano and guitar lessons as well as acting lessons. She is a state-approved music teacher in the subject of pop music (ensemble management / band coaching).

After a casting for a background singer for the Weather Girls , she was permanently engaged from 1997 to 1999. As a background singer she also had appearances e.g. B. with Hot Chocolate , Chris de Burgh and Jennifer Rush .

Career

In 1996 she met the guitarist Norbert Bürger , who was a member of a gypsy jazz formation. Bürger and Kreitmeier turned away from conventional real- book jazz and performed together under the name Orchester Bürger Kreitmeier . In 2006 they were awarded the German Cabaret Prize for their grotesque rock and pop show . Between 2003 and 2006, the duo gained notoriety through television appearances in cabaret and comedy programs. In April 2007 the two gave their last rock show together in Bielefeld . Overall, the duo was active from 1997 to 2007, sometimes performing up to 150 concerts per year and tours lasting several weeks.

After her success in cabaret and comedy, Kreitmeier turned back to purely musical projects. Collaborations with various musicians and artists followed, including Jan Zehrfeld , the band leader of the jazz-metal-funk band Panzerballett . Together they created several vocal titles for the band, e.g. For example, the jazz-metal operetta "Zickenterror", which Kreitmeier performs as a guest singer with the band every now and then. In December 2013, Kreitmeier & Zehrfeld performed as a duet under the name MedusA-Narchos at the Munich Jazz Festival (Jim).

Between 2007 and 2012 Conny Kreitmeier was the front woman and rhythm guitarist of the Munich lady rock band Daisy Ultra .

Together with a classic rock trio, she presented the “official music concert” between 2008 and 2013 under the name of Stimmungsbüro Kreitmeier , a potpourri of original compositions and cover versions. Since 2012 the “mood office Kreitmeier” has been active with a new line-up as a live studio band on the Bavarian cabaret show “ SchleichFernsehen ”. Between 2011 and 2016 Kreitmeier was also active as a jazz vocalist with the modern jazz combo "Franz-David Baumann Quintett". Baumann's own compositions contain some texts written by Kreitmeier in German.

Conny Kreitmeier has been a permanent member of the Oberkrainer rock band The Heimatdamisch as a singer and electric guitarist since 2015 . The band performed at many major festivals in Germany and Austria, including a. Woodstock of brass music , Brass Wiesn and Voixjam . In 2016 The Heimatdamisch performed live at the Bavarian Cabaret Prize on BR TV . Your video “Highway to Hell” posted on Facebook received over 21 million Facebook views within a few days. The band released their album "Circus Oberkrain" in 2019.

Drama and theater

In 1994 Kreitmeier got a small supporting role in the Munich Tatort " and the music plays with it ". This was followed in 2000 by an engagement in the musical "Labyrinth on Line", an in-house production of the Munich University of Music . At the Wintertollwood Festival 2007 in Munich, she took over the role of “Nanni Haslinger” in the music theater “ The Bartered Grandfather ” and was responsible for the choir arrangement. Lecturer activity

Conny Kreitmeier works as a freelance singing lecturer at music schools as well as a guest lecturer at workshops. From 1997 to 2013 she taught at the Downtown Music Institute in Augsburg. Between 2007 and 2011, she was the director of the intensive course in Pop, where she majored in singing. Since 2011 she has been teaching as a singing teacher at the Munich Jazz School in the open teaching program. There she led the in-house jazz choir until 2017.
