Sünderup ( Danish Sønderup ) is the name of a place in the independent city of Flensburg . The former rural community was incorporated in 1974. Sünderup is now part of the Tarup district .

history

The name Sünderup means something like southern village . It got its name according to its southern location from the mother village of Adelby , from which the village of Sünderup, like Tarup, was probably left in the High Middle Ages. While in the Duchy of Schleswig the coupling of the common property previously managed jointly by the local court owners within a village boundary was not completed until the 18th century, in Sünderup a single farm dominated as early as the 17th century. This Sünderuphof was by far the most powerful property in the entire parish of Adelby. All other locations in Sünderup were to the 19th century, dependent on the farm cottages .

After the Duchy of Schleswig was incorporated into the Prussian state in 1864, Sünderup became a rural community under the Prussian local authority. This also included Adelbylund , which consisted of two main courtyards and several cottages on Flensburg - Kappelner Chaussee. The Katensiedlung grew together with the Flensburg suburb of Süderhohlweg in the 19th century. The latter was incorporated into Flensburg in 1875, and in 1900 the northern neighboring municipality of Jürgensgaard (an essential part of the later district of Jürgensby ). In 1910 the northern four parishes of the Adelby parish followed ( Twedter Holz , Twedt , Engelsby and Fruerlund ). Sünderup with Adelbylund, however, retained its independence in the Flensburg district .

In an area swap in 1966 and 1967, an area with 78 inhabitants was transferred from Sünderup to Tarup. In addition, the area of the Adelby Church with 30 residents was transferred to Sünderup. The municipality of Sünderup was located in Adelbylund on the corner of Sünderuper Weg, where the seat of the now dissolved, since 1889 and originally the entire rural parish of Adelby, had previously been located.

On January 1, 1970 the previously independent municipalities Sünderup and Tarup merged to form the new municipality Adelby. Adelbylund, in which the administration of the new Adelby municipality was located, had long since grown into Flensburg and since 1950 it had been expanded to the south. It was assigned to the Fördestadt on April 26, 1970. On March 24, 1974, Sünderup and Tarup, but not Tastrup, joined the city of Flensburg. In terms of urban planning, however, the district of Sünderup remained isolated from Flensburg's closed development for a long time. This did not change until 2000. The center is the village square, which has been surrounded by a senior citizens' center since 2005. It forms a direct line to the sinner super good. The district of Sünderup is divided into a new development area (consisting of the streets: Dorfkoppel, An der Dorfkoppel and Dorfbogen) and the primary buildings of the village. Thanks to the new Hochfeld development area near Kattloch to the south, Sünderup has now visually grown close to Tastrup.

Individual evidence

  1. The urban district Sünderup (more precisely Sünderup-West) corresponds to the campus. The actual Sünderup belongs to Tarup. See districts, published by the City of Flensburg ( Memento from February 24, 2016 in the Internet Archive )

  3. On January 1, 1966, the parishes of Tarup and Sünderup apparently "did not" merge to form the parish of Adelby. Obviously misrepresented in: Gerret Liebing Schlaber: From the country to the district. Flensburg's Stadtfeld and the incorporated villages in pictures and words approx. 1860–1930. Flensburg 2009.
