Kattloch (2018)

Kattloch ( Danish Katgab ) is the name of a place in the city of Flensburg , which is located south of Sünderup and for a long time belonged to the municipality of Sünderup, and today it belongs to the district of Tarup .

history

The origin of the name Kattloch is unclear (see Katsund and Windloch ). In the 19th century, Kattloch was initially the name of a single cottage near Sünderupfeld , which was on the road that led from Adelby to Tastrup in the south . By the beginning of the 20th century, Kattloch grew to four houses. In the 1950s, more single-family houses were built near Kattloch. The aforementioned Adelby-Tastruper Weg has been called the Ringstrasse since 1975 . In 2013, the Kattloch settlement apparently consisted of six residential buildings with a few outbuildings.

The adjacent railway underpass of the ring road under the Kiel – Flensburg railway line is apparently also called Kattloch, at least nowadays. In the early 2000s, the new Hochfeld settlement was built near Kattloch . On the undeveloped Sünderupfeld, to the west, on the edge of Kattloch, there is now a youth activity area where young people up to the age of 21 can play football . In 2015, it was decided in the Flensburg town hall that a further piece of land west of Kattloch should be an industrial park. A daycare center has been located in this area since 2013 .
