The locomotives of the class Кч4 (German transcription KTSch4) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) were narrow-gauge steam locomotives that were manufactured according to the model type П24 from the Kolomna locomotive factory in various European countries with different names. This machine came from the period 1949–1952 from the Škoda locomotive factory in Plzeň .
history
The narrow-gauge Кч4 steam locomotives were manufactured from 1949 to 1952 in Czechoslovakia , at the Škoda Plzeň plant . They were locomotives that, analogous to the locomotives of the project П24 , developed by the Kolomna locomotive factory, appeared under the Škoda factory designation 64 lo in 420 copies. Similar machines were also made under the designation КП-4 in Poland , the KB4 series in Hungary , the ПТ-4 series in Finland and the Bп series from the Wotkinski works. When Кч4 opposite the were П24 a whole bunch of changes and technological improvements carried out. The steam locomotives produced were given the designation Кч4.001 to Кч4.420 . In 1952 four more steam locomotives were built, which were given the numbers Кч4.197 to Кч4.200 again . As a result of the post-war turmoil, these four machines remained in Czechoslovakia .
The locomotive tender was a simple three-axle construction and was manufactured by the Klement Gottwald mechanical engineering company in Brno . Many locomotives of the Кч4 series have survived to this day. The following were preserved as monuments:
- Кч4.100 in Tallinn ,
- Кч4.101 in Rostov-on-Don ,
- Кч4.110 in Тюри , Estonia ,
- Кч4.235 in Kuznetsk ,
- Кч4.276 in Kharovsk ,
- Кч4.286 in Vyksa and
- Кч4.286 in Yekaterinburg .
The following are preserved in museums:
The Кч4.332 is operational at the moment . This steam locomotive survived after its retirement in the Lavassaare Museum , Estonia . In 2003 it was leased to the Gulbene - Alūksne narrow-gauge railway in Latvia . It was restored there, nicknamed Marisa, and it ran tourist trains and trains there during the holidays. In autumn 2009 the locomotive was transferred to the Panevėžys - Anykščiai line in Lithuania , from where it was returned to the Lavassaare Museum in 2010. Since then she has been driving round trains there.
The tender of the ПТ-4.114 is attached to the Кч4.332 . Her original tender, which had the serial number 27538, was a memorial in Bologoje until 2013 with the КП-4.447 . After this locomotive had been reconditioned to drive, the tender remained with the Polish narrow-gauge locomotive.
