The Samsung S5L8723 is a System-on-a-Chip (SoC) manufactured by Samsung for Apple . It combines an ARM CPU with SDRAM memory on one chip.

The S5L8730 was introduced with the 6th generation iPod nano on September 1, 2010.

The S5L8723 contains a 32-bit ARMv6 compatible ARM11 main processor . The size of the memory is 64 MB. In contrast to the previous SoC, the S5L8730, the S5L8723 cannot play videos. This was, among other things, a major criticism of the 6th generation iPod nano.
