The steam locomotive series SB old 19 (from 1864 SB 33 ) was a freight train - steam locomotive series of the Austrian Southern Railway (SB), whose locomotives were created by converting former machines of the Southern State Railway (SStB) (see SStB - Grünschacher to Sonnwendstein ).
Following the Semmering competition, the Southern State Railroad procured 26 Engerth locomotives for operation on the Semmering . These triple-coupled support-tender locomotives came in 1858 to the kk privileged Südbahn-Gesellschaft , which had them converted from 1861 to 1864 into quadruple-coupled tender locomotives, as they were already too weak for mountain service. They received the series designation 19 and the numbers 601-626, from 1864 the designation 33 with the numbers 901-926.
The converted machines could be used for several decades on Semmering and on the Brenner Railway , which opened in 1867 . In the course of their lives they underwent various modifications, such as the driver's cab or the placement of a square sand dome on the back of the boiler.
After the nationalization of the Austrian routes on the Southern Railway in 1929, ten more of this series came to the BBÖ as 371.01-10 , which they retired by 1929.
