SC Kirjat Gat
The Kirjat Gat sports club ( Hebrew מועדון ספורט קריית גת, Moadon Sport Kirjat Gat ) is an Israeli sports club from Kirjat Gat , which is currently only active in women's football . It is not associated with the local Maccabi Kirjat Gat association (founded in 1961).
The club was founded in 2008 as the successor to Beitar Kirjat Gat (founded in 1970, reorganized in 2016), which has since been dissolved. The men's team was able to win the championship of the fifth-rate Ligat Gimel Central in the premiere season and move up to the fourth-rate Ligat Bet, in which it remained for three seasons until it was dissolved in 2012.
The women's team has existed since 2010, rose to the top division of Israeli women's football ( Ligat Nashim Rishona ) as the second division champions in 2013 and then established themselves at the top of the national league . After a 1-0 final win against ASA Tel Aviv , the first national cup success was achieved in 2016. The first two championship titles followed in 2017 and 2018. Winning the 2018 double was missed by the 3-2 defeat in the cup final against FC Ramat hascharon .
