In the Ligat Nashim ( Hebrew : ליגת על נשים ; translation: League of Women ) is since 1998 by the National Football Association IFA the championship of the women's soccer teams from Israel organized. Participation in the UEFA Women's Champions League is associated with winning the championship title .

The women's league was single-track for the first twelve years of its existence until it was subordinated to a second women's league (Ligat Nashim Shniya) as the first women's league (Ligat Nashim Rishona) for the 2010/11 season. The second division represents a promotion place for the first division. In the 2003/04 season, the game was interrupted and the competition finally ceased altogether after the players went on strike for fairer salary payments.

The women's football cup was established at the same time as the league .
