history
The association was founded on August 27, 1937 as RODKA ( Russian РОДКА СКВО (Ростовский окружной Дом Красной Армии Северо-Кавказского военного окру) ). In 1954 the name was changed to ODO ( Russian ОДО (Окружной Дом офицеров) ), in 1957 to SKWO. The club has had its current name since 1960.
SKVO rose to the Russian B league in 1958 and a year later to the top Soviet division, where the team played until 1973, finished second in 1966 and fourth in 1959, 1960, 1963 and 1964.
The period from the 1970s to the end of the Soviet Union was characterized by several relegations and promotions between the two top divisions. In the 1990s it went down to the 3rd division and the amateur class for a few years . In 2002, 2007 and 2008 the club played in the 2nd Russian division, the 1st division , for the 2009 season , however, the club waived a license for the 1st division and voluntarily relegated to the 2nd division season south.
