David Daus

David Daus (born October 16, 1975 in Krefeld ) is a German table tennis player . He became German champion in men's doubles in 2004 and won the national ranking tournament DTTB-TOP12 in 2005 .

Career

This originally comes from TuS 08 Rheinberg. He came to Bundesliga club Borussia Düsseldorf via Weiß-Rot-Weiß Kleve (1993/94 season) . After a detour to TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt in 1998 , he returned to the Bundesliga in 1999 when he switched to TTC Jülich . In 2002 he moved to the second division club DJK Germania Holthausen . So far he is the first second division player to win the DTTB TOP12 tournament. In 2002 Daus was tenth in the German ranking. In 2009 Daus joined the Swiss first division club TTC Rapid Luzern.

Daus is left handed. From 1999 to 2005 he reached the quarter-finals each time at the German championships, where he lost to a different player each time.

Private

In addition to his professional career, Daus completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk at the table tennis specialist schöler + micke , for whom he still works today. He has a son (* 2005). His older brother Daniel (* 1963) also played in the TT-Bundesliga in the 1990s.
