Beginnings and years in the Saarland amateur league

Since the club was founded in 1909, there has also been a football department. For the first season 1951/52 of the amateur league Saarland, the team from the local district league was promoted. At the end of the season they managed to stay in the league with 12th place. The class could be held until the 1955/56 season, after this season it went back to the district league due to the penultimate place. Due to the immediate resurgence, it went straight back to the Saarland amateur league for the 1957/58 season . In the season 1961/62 the championship could then be celebrated for the first time. As a result, the team was able to participate in the promotion round to II. Division Southwest for the season II. Division 1962/63 # Southwest and reached third place, which did not qualify for promotion. After the 1970/71 season, the championship could be celebrated again. In the promotion round to the regional league they again had no success and thus remained in the league.

The A-junior team was able to reach the final of the German championship in the 1971/72 season . In the preliminary group Lörrach the 3rd place could be achieved there. After the 1973/74 season, after many years, another descent into the district league followed . For the 1976/77 season , the rise in the amateur league Saarland could be celebrated. After the 1977/78 season , however, the league was deprived of its third division and continued as a fourth division association league. Due to the penultimate place in the table, the team could not come into the new Oberliga Südwest and thus played the next season in the Association League. The club was then able to qualify for the 1989/90 season of the DFB Junior Club Cup. In the South-Southwest group , however, they failed there because of Wormatia Worms .

From regional league to regional league and back again

In the 2002/03 season the club played in the Landesliga Südwest . For the 2003/04 season it went to the District League West, but this season also meant relegation as the bottom of the table with only 10 points. So the 2004/05 season continued in the Saar district league . Only after the 2007/08 season was promoted to the District League West again . After the 2010-11 season went there in 15th again down to the Kreisliga A . In the next season, however, came the direct rise again. In the 2017/18 season, the championship in the Saarlouis district league (as the league is now called) was finally celebrated. In the first Landesliga West season, the team was able to finish the table as 13th. In the 2019/20 season, the club is now back in the Saarlouis district league .
