history
The club was founded in 1981 as the football section of SV Lendorf and was therefore also called SV Lendorf. In the 1994/95 season , the club took part in the ÖFB Cup for the first time. There they were eliminated in the preliminary round against the Friesacher AC .
In the following season they reached the main round in the ÖFB Cup for the first time: First, they defeated the regional division Wolfsberger AC in the preliminary round , before they had to admit defeat in the first main round against the Bundesliga team Grazer AK in extra time.
In the Cup in the 1997/98 season they won the preliminary round match against WSC Hertha Wels and they were also victorious in the first round against second division club SV Braunau . Thus one reached the second round in the cup for the first time. There they failed with a 2-1 defeat at the second division SK Vorwärts Steyr .
In the 1999/2000 season they became champions of the Carinthian regional league and thus rose to the regional league for the first time . In the 2000/01 season they finished 15th in the regional league middle and thus had to relegate to the regional league.
There they were represented in the top ranks again and again: In the 2006/07 season they reached second place and were four points behind the champions SVG Bleiburg . In the 2007/08 season they finished third behind FC St. Veit and FC Nussdorf , but missed promotion quite clearly with 15 points behind. In the 2008/09 season they were represented with a fourth place in the front table positions. In the 2009/10 season they were runner-up again, with a deficit of two points on SV Feldkirchen they just missed promotion.
In May 2010 it was decided that the football section of SV Lendorf would continue as FC Lendorf .
In 2010/11 they took sixth place. With a gap of 26 points on the champions Villacher SV and an advantage of 18 points on the relegated FC Welzenegg , they had nothing to do with promotion or relegation that season. In the 2011/12 season they were closer to returning to the Regionalliga: They finished fifth and were five points behind the promoted SV Feldkirchen.
In 2012/13 they were in the middle of the table with a seventh place and had a large lead over the relegation ranks. In the 2013/14 season, third place was the best result since the 2009/10 season. Lendorf was nine points short of the champions ATSV Wolfsberg . Third place followed in the 2014/15 season, however, the worst position for a long time: With 37 points, they finished tenth in the table and were ten points ahead of the relegation ranks.
In the 2015/16 season, after winning the first round against league rivals VST Völkermarkt , they reached the second round in the ÖFB Cup for the first time in 18 years, where they clearly lost 5-0 to second division SV Austria Salzburg . In the league they finished fifth with 45 points that season.
In the 2016/17 season Lendorf was fourth with 55 points. In the 2017/18 season, the club was again champion of the Carinthian regional league after 18 years and thus rose to the regional league. They had a lead of one point over the runner-up and co-promoted VST Völkermarkt and a lead of seven points on the first non-promoted, the SAK Klagenfurt .
