history

The association was founded on October 19, 1955 in Klein Stöckheim (renamed Stöckheim in 1962).

From the 1971/72 season, SV Stöckheim was one of the first Braunschweig clubs to have a women's soccer team in the game. The SV achieved its greatest success in 1996 when they secured the Lower Saxony championship with a 4-2 victory over MTV Wohnste and were promoted to the then second-class Regionalliga Nord . Here they managed to stay up in the 1996/97 season, but in 1998 they had to relegate again. Most recently, SV Stöckheim played in the Braunschweig district league, currently (as of the 2012/13 season) there is no longer a women's team.

The first men's team plays in the 2nd district class Braunschweig in the 2013/14 season.

Other departments

The club's basketball team, founded in 2008, has been playing in the Oberliga Niedersachsen-Ost since the 2012/13 season after four consecutive promotions.
