SV Weißblau-Allianz München

The SV Weißblau-Allianz München e. V. is a sports club from Munich . The men's table tennis team played in the Bundesliga for two years around 1970 .

The operator of the popular sports club with club branches throughout Germany is Allianz insurance . There are 20 departments. The majority of the more than 4,000 members (as of December 2010) are employees or relatives of employees of the Allianz companies and Munich Re .

Club history

The club was founded in 1926 with the divisions football, track and field, fistball and gymnastics for men and women. In the year it was founded, it had 235 members. Further departments were created: 1931 tennis, 1932 table tennis and skiing, 1933 handball and swimming, 1935 chess and jiu-jitsu.

During the Second World War , sports activities largely came to a standstill. From March 1948, activities were resumed. In 1951 there were again nine departments. Further branches were added in the following years.

After the termination of the usage contract for the used sports grounds on Osterwaldstrasse in Munich by Allianz Insurance, the club must vacate the grounds by the end of July 2018.

Table tennis

The table tennis department was founded on September 1st, 1932. The first men's team reached the league in 1962 , which was then the highest German division. However, she missed relegation the following year. In 1966 they returned. With the help of Conny Freundorfer , Detlef Siewert , Radivoj Hudetz , Weber, Fritz Wildner and Michael Normann, she was promoted to the Bundesliga, which has now been created . Here she was last and had to relegate. Immediately in 1970, the rise was successful with Conny Freundorfer, Detlef Siewert, Bernd Deffner, Richard Lampersberger, Klaus Maier and Fritz Wildner. However, the team could not hold the class this time either.

When the team was only second in the league in 1971/72 and missed promotion, the team disbanded. Over the next 20 years, the team shuttled between the Oberliga, Bayernliga and Landesliga. In 1984 the senior team became German senior champions.

There will be four men's teams in the 2010/11 season. The first plays in the Bayernliga.
