S Doradus is one of the brightest stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud , a companion galaxy to the Milky Way . It can be found in the constellation swordfish (lat. Dorado, hence its name), which is located in the southern hemisphere. S Doradus is a luminous blue variable , so he belongs to the hypergiant . Its brightness varies from +8 to +11 mag .
