Sabine Andresen

Sabine Andresen (* 1966 in Nordstrand ) is a German educator with a focus on childhood and youth research and teaches as a professor at the University of Frankfurt / Main .

Professional background

Andresen completed her studies for teaching at elementary and secondary schools in the subjects of history, German and music in 1990 with the first state examination and received her diploma as a teacher in 1994. Until 1997 she did her doctorate in educational science at the University of Heidelberg. In 2003 she completed her habilitation in pedagogy on the subject of socialist childhood concepts. Political influences on education. at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zurich.

From 1994 to 1997 she was a research assistant at the Heidelberg University of Education , Faculty of Social Sciences in the Childhood Research project, after which she briefly served as an assistant to the Rector. From 1998 to 2001 she was a habilitation scholarship holder from the state of Baden-Württemberg and a research assistant at the educational science seminar at Heidelberg University . From 2001 to 2004 she was senior assistant at the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Zurich. In October 2004 she was appointed to the C4 professorship for general educational science at the Faculty of Education at Bielefeld University. In the summer semester of 2011, she switched to a research professorship for family aid at the University of Frankfurt in the Institute for Social Pedagogy and Adult Education.

Since 2010 she has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Conflict and Violence Research , a member of the jury for the German Children's Prize and a member of the scientific advisory board of the peer-reviewed journal Gender . In 2017 she was elected to the Academy of Sciences and Literature .

Sabine Andresen has been chairwoman of the Independent Commission for Coming up with Child Sexual Abuse since 2016 .
