German Children's Prize

The German Children's Prize was an annual award given to children, adults or organizations that support children. It was awarded in several categories. The prize has not been awarded since 2011.

history

The award was first presented in 2007. The German Children's Prize was created on the basis of a joint initiative by the broadcasting officer of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the aid organization World Vision Germany . It has the motto: "You don't have to be big to create something big."

In 2007 the prize was donated by the German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) , the German Children's Fund (DKHW) and the Broadcasting Officer of the Evangelical Church in Germany ( EKD ).

Contributors

Wayne Carpendale is the ambassador for the German Children's Prize ; Project sponsors of the award in 2007 were Dirk Bach , Andrea Sawatzki , Sophie Schütt , Claudine Wilde , Birgit Schrowange and Andrea Kiewel . The jury consisted of Bernd Merz , radio commissioner of the EKD, Sabine Andresen , author of the World Vision children's study 2007, the children's book author Paul Maar , Jana Fädrich, children's commissioner, Lothar Krappmann , UN committee for children's rights and a representative the child and youth parliaments.

Mariella Ahrens , Marc Bator , Marek Erhardt , Birgit Schrowange , Sophie Schütt , Susanne Uhlen and Ulrike von der Groeben were involved as project sponsors for 2009/2010 .
