Sabine Knickrehm

Sabine Knickrehm (born October 26, 1959 in Hamburg ) is the presiding judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

Sabine Knickrehm is a graduate of the Hamburg one-stage legal training , during which she already focused on labor and social law. She started her professional career in 1985 as a lawyer in a Hamburg law firm. In January 1986 she moved to the Federal Social Court as a research assistant .

From August 1986 she continued her professional career in the Hessian social justice system, initially as a judge at the Social Court in Frankfurt am Main and from January 1991 at the Hessian State Social Court in Darmstadt .

On April 1, 2003 , she took up her position as a judge at the Federal Social Court , in its 9a./9b./10. Senate ( War Victims and Soldiers Care , Disabled Persons Law , Social Assistance , Asylum Seekers Benefits Act , Farmers Social Insurance , Federal Education Allowance Act ) she was initially active. Since July 2007 she has been dealing with disputes in the area of basic security for job seekers , until the end of August 2008 in the 14th Senate, since then in the 4th Senate. Since December 2009 she has been Deputy Chairwoman of the 4th Senate. On August 16, 2016, she took over the chairmanship of the 13th Senate, which is responsible for matters relating to statutory pension insurance .

In addition to her judicial work, Sabine Knickrehm teaches social law at the University of Kassel .

Her husband, Vasco Knickrehm, is the director of the Kassel Social Court .
