Sabine Peters (born January 29, 1913 in Berlin , † October 10, 1982 in Munich ) was a German stage and film actress .

Live and act

In 1932, after studying acting with Ilka Grüning, at the age of 19, the businessman's daughter was taken over directly to the ensemble around Agnes Straub at the Berlin Theater on Kurfürstendamm , where she was engaged until 1938. That year she also made her film debut in the movie Eight Girls in a Boat . In the following year she played alongside several important actors of the time in the film Maturing Youth . In addition to Hertha Thiele , Albert Lieven and Paul Henckels , she worked together with Heinrich George .

The actor and director Fritz Kampers hired her for the Schwank Konjunkturritter with the famous folk actor Weiß Ferdl . Together with Geraldine Katt and Lil Dagover , she made her breakthrough in 1936 in the Ufa problematic film Das Mädchen Irene . In it she plays a selfish young girl who tries to prevent her attractive mother from remarrying by all means.

Familiar with classical roles on stage, she appeared in front of the camera in 1937 in the adaptation of Gerhart Hauptmann's Der Biberpelz together with Heinrich George, Ida Wüst and Rotraut Richter . 1938 followed the strip Rätsel about Beate von Johannes Meyer , again with Lil Dagover and at the side of Albrecht Schoenhals .

Sabine Peters was married to the opera singer Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender . The daughter Brigitte Fassbaender , who was born in 1939 and later became an important mezzo-soprano, comes from this marriage . After 1945 Sabine Peters appeared mainly in the theater. She had her last role in 1980 in the television adaptation of Die Weber as Frau Hilse.
