Sabri Kiçmari

Sabri Kiçmari (born September 14, 1967 in Podujevo , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is a Kosovar diplomat and the first ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Austria .

Kiqmari studied at the Ruhr University Bochum , where he finished his undergraduate studies in March 1997. He then continued his studies at the Philosophical Faculty of the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelm University in Bonn and received his Magister Artium in December 2001 . There he received his doctorate at the Institute for Political Science and Sociology in June 2007 .

In addition to his studies, Kiçmari also worked as a journalist. From 1989 to 1999 he reported from Germany as a correspondent for the magazine Zeri i Kosovës . From September 2001 to September 2005 he was a media analyst at the Media Institute in Bonn. In March 2006 he became a lecturer in social affairs and European integration at the Philosophical Faculty at the University of Pristina .

After the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and the Republic of Kosovo, the former foreign spokesman was KLA October 2008 Charge d'Affaires a. i. the Kosovar embassy in Vienna . In October 2009 he was promoted to ambassador.

Kiçmari is married and has two children.
