Sabrina Malheiros (born April 4, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian singer.

biography

She is a daughter of the famous Azymuth bassist , Alex Malheiros. Her music career began when she was 11 when she appeared on the Azymuth album Curumim , which came out in 1990. At the age of 19 she sang for the band United Future Organization , a Japanese acid jazz group, and again in 1999 for Azymuth: Pieces of Ipanema.

In 1999 she appeared in the film trilogy A terceira morte de Joaquim Bolívar by Flávio Cândido. In 2002 she took part in the Superágua project , which is run by the Brazilian DJs Jonas & Ulisses Cappelletti. Sabrina Malheiros relies on typical Brazilian sound art, which is expanded to include a little electronics, R&B and hip hop.

Equilibria (2005)

On her debut album she puts together seven sambas and six bossas . In addition to the Azymuth musicians Alex Malheiros, Jose Roberto Bertrami and Ivan Conti, Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick from Incognito will also be involved. In addition, the album contains cover versions of Marcos Valle (“Terra de ninguém”) and others: “Eu sou mais eu”, “Estação verão” and “Maracatueira”.
