Sachar Prilepin ( Russian Захар Прилепин , pseudonym of Yevgeny Nikolajewitsch Prilepin ( Russian Евгений Николаевич Прилепин ); born July 7, 1975 in Ryazan , Soviet Union informal group ) is a Russian writer, member of the Russian nationalist group and editor-in-chief .

Life

Prilepin's father is a university professor and his mother is a nurse. He studied philology and linguistics at the Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod . He carried out various activities before becoming a member of the OMON police unit , with which he participated in anti-terrorism operations in Chechnya in 1996 and 1999 . During this time he joined the National Bolsheviks, which since 2005 have been banned as an anti-constitutional organization by court order.

In 2004 Prilepin took part in two writing seminars. Since that time he has been active as a writer. Some of his publications have received awards so far. In 2010 he was one of the organizers of a protest march against the rulers in his home town of Nizhny Novgorod. He was one of the 34 first signatories of the manifesto against Vladimir Putin entitled Putin Must Go from March 2010.

In February 2017 he took over the position of deputy battalion commander in the internationally unrecognized " Donetsk People's Republic ". Before that, he had already worked for several years as an advisor to the People's Republic leader Sachartschenko .

In the meantime, Prilepin worked for the newspaper Novaya Gazeta . Prilepin now lives in Donetsk (Donbass region) with his wife, two sons and two daughters.

In mid-February 2017, he published his book Platoon in Moscow . Officers and rebels of Russian Literature . It is supposed to be about writers who also handled the weapon - from Derschavin to Pushkin. Immediately afterwards, the author moved to the front line near Donetsk to fight the Ukrainian regime, as he openly stated. As a result, his German publisher terminated his contract. Prilepin has volunteered for the propaganda and openly describes himself as an imperialist . In March 2018 he appeared at the Paris Salon des livres and argued with Ukrainians from within the audience; in October of the same year he also appeared at the Frankfurt Book Fair .
