Lists on the subject |
The Sako TRG is a system of sniper rifles . It is developed and manufactured by the Finnish weapons manufacturer Sako , which belongs to the Beretta Group .
Structure and use
In order to ensure the stability of the rifle with minimal weight, not only the barrel but also the system case was cold forged. The lock cylinder moves in this sleeve and loads and locks the repeater. Usually this piece is milled from a block. For reasons of torsional stiffness, the sleeve was only perforated for a small ejector opening. The cylinder has three locking lugs for high bullet resistance. The trigger is adjustable for a pull from 1.0 kg to 2.5 kg. The rifle is suitable for both left-handers and right-handers. The piston length as well as the height can be adjusted.
The shaft is made of polyurethane . This means that deformations of the stock are excluded even in damp and wet conditions, so the barrel can swing freely at any time. The locking sleeve is mounted and screwed on an aluminum bedding in the shaft. Butt, cheek rest and trigger are variable and can be adapted to the shooter. The weapon can be fitted with a removable flash hider or a silencer .
The version TRG-41/42 in caliber .338 Lapua Magnum is considered to be one of the most precise sniper rifles in the world. It shows a deviation of less than 1 arc minute (English Minute-of-Angle , MOA for short ). By using the .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge, the weapon has a long range, as the projectile maintains supersonic speed up to a distance of around 1200 m. This also guarantees the penetration of body armor. Shooting distances of over 1200 meters are possible, and targeted hits at a distance of one mile are reported.
The rifle is part of the equipment of the armed forces and the police in Finland . In addition, the weapon is exported abroad and (among others) used in Sweden , Denmark , Switzerland and the Czech Republic, both militarily and by the police. In January 2017 it was announced that Poland would also purchase 150 TRG-M10 rifles for the armed forces .
Swiss Army
In 2004 the Swiss Army procured 196 TRG-42 rifles. These are called sniper rifles 04 (SSGw 04) and the ammunition is called Gw Pat 04 . As a scope that is 3-12x50 PMII of Schmidt & Bender used. The sniper rifle 04 is used in the support companies of the infantry battalions and by the special forces command .
