The Saku Suurhall ( Estonian Suurhall = Great Hall ) is a multifunctional arena in the Haabersti district of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is the largest multi-purpose hall in the country. The BC Kalev / Cramo basketball team has been based in the arena since 2001 .
history
The Saku Suurhall was inaugurated in November 2001. It is named after its main sponsor, the Estonian beer brand Saku . Saku Suurhall has been a member of the European Arenas Association (EAA) since 2002 .
A total of 13,220 m² is spread over four floors. Around 300 events take place in the hall every year, including around 70 major events. It has space for 10,000 concert-goers, of which 7,200 are seats. The first event in the hall was the Irish dance show Lord of the Dance .
The Saku Suurhall is a regular venue for basketball and ice hockey games . It is also the most modern concert and musical hall in Estonia.
