Salah El Din Ahmed Said (born October 29, 1988 in Asosa ) is an Ethiopian football player.

Career

society

Said began his career in youth from the Ethiopian club Muger Cement Wonji until he joined the professional team of Saint-George SA in 2007 . In his first season in 2007/08, he was the top scorer with 21 goals in 17 games. In the 2008-09 season he was voted the best player in the league.

In 2010 he completed a trial training at the Serbian club FK Partizan Belgrade , but in the end there was no commitment. He then trained with league rivals FK Vojvodina Novi Sad , but Vojvodina did not commit Said. At the Kagame Interclub Cup 2011 he scored five goals in a 7-0 win against the Djiboutian club AS Port .

On October 9th he moved to the Egyptian club Wadi Degla FC , which paid 2.04 million birr (approx. 240,000 US dollars ) for Said. This was the highest sum ever paid for an Ethiopian football player. He made his league debut on January 15, 2012 against Tala'ea El-Gaish SC . On January 27, 2013 Lierse SK announced the signing of Saladin Said. Lierse is also managed by the Egyptian WadiDegla Holding Company . In his fifth league game for Lierse on May 4, he scored the first goal for his new employer in the game against KV Kortrijk .

Further positions followed at al Ahly Kairo and the MC Oran . Since 2016 he has been under contract with Saint-George SA in his home country .

National team

Said made his A international debut on June 1, 2007 against the DR Congo , where he scored his first international goal with the decisive 1-0 goal. On June 5, 2011, he scored twice in the qualifying game for the 2012 African Cup against Nigeria (2: 2) as well as in the qualifying game for the 2014 World Cup against Central Africa .
