Salikenne (spelling variant: Selikene ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, about 3,704 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 3,560.

geography

Salikenne is located approximately 14 kilometers east of Kerewan and 42 kilometers west of Farafenni . The place, in the North Bank region in the district of Central Baddibu , lies on the north bank of the Gambia River . A road leads from North Bank Road , at Nja Kunda , nine kilometers south to Salikenne.

Facilities

The Salikenni Nursery School has existed in the village since 2008 , a project run by the German association Zukunft in Salikenni e. V. run kindergarten, in which 150 children are looked after.
