Salmo pallaryi reached a body length of 24 cm. The body was dark brown to blackish in color and showed no pattern. The muzzle was high and narrow. The anal fins had 12 to 13 (rarely 14) supporting elements (pterygiophores). With regard to the nature of the orbital bones (circumorbital), the species showed similarities with Salmo ohridanus .

Salmo pallaryi disappeared after carp were released in Aguelmame Sidi Ali in 1934 . The species has been considered extinct since 1938. There are only two copies in the museum collections.
